The official website for the television anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s Mao manga has revealed additional cast members, a second key visual, and the opening theme for the second cour. The anime series premiered on April 4 at 11:45 p.m. on NHK G.

Boy group 20th Century will perform the opening theme for the second cour, titled “Bokura ga Uwagaki suru Sekai.”
Staff and Production
Teruo Satou (Hanyou no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogizoushi) is directing the anime at Sunrise, with Yuuko Kakihara (Urusei Yatsura (2022)) handling series composition. Yoshihito Hishinuma (InuYasha) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Shuu Kanematsu (Hametsu no Oukoku) is composing the music.
Manga Background
Takahashi began serializing the supernatural manga in Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine in May 2019. Shogakukan published the 29th volume on June 18. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2021. The 24th volume shipped on May 12, with the 25th volume planned for an August 11 release.
