The latest installment in the Space Battleship Yamato 2199 series, Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199, is currently screening its sixth chapter, “Blue Labyrinth” (Aoi Meikyuu). A special collaboration visual featuring the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue has been unveiled, and the opening footage of Chapter 6 has been released on YouTube.

About Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199
Based on the 1980 theatrical film Yamato yo Towa ni, this new series reinterprets the story across seven chapters (26 episodes total). The title “3199” hints at a future a thousand years later. The mysterious Dezarium, who appear as enemies, have a hidden connection to Earth. The shocking revelations from the previous chapter continue to expand.
The drama intensifies as Mori Yuki, captured by the enemy officer Alphon, and Kodai Susumu, burdened by guilt, face the trials of separation. Sasha, the orphan of Starsha, also plays a major role. Every character acts with conviction, leading to a tense battle that questions the meaning of the conflict. What does the keyword “REBEL” truly signify?
Chapter 6: “Blue Labyrinth”
In Chapter 6, the space battleship Yamato crosses a space-time node and arrives not in the future, but in Tokyo of the year 2026—long before the war with Gamilas, on an Earth untouched by planet bombs. If Yamato heads to the Gamilas star in this era, the future could be changed. The same temptation of “historical revision” that Dezarium seeks unfolds before Domon Ryuusuke.
The future where humanity becomes Dezarium, and even the history of war, might vanish. The Yamato and its crew might also disappear. Yet peace could remain. The desire to change tragedy persists. As red-eyed Sasha watches, the Yamato transforms into a black vessel. What awaits at the end of its wake?

Collaboration with the Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue
The collaboration visual was made possible thanks to the connection of general director Fukui Harutoshi, who also wrote the story for Mobile Suit Gundam UC. The illustration was newly drawn by Maamiya Kia, who handles image drawings for Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199. The visual depicts the Yamato flying over the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue at Odaiba, a scene that actually appears in the film’s opening.
In the opening of Chapter 6, the Yamato appears over Tokyo in 2026, and the scene includes it flying above the Unicorn Gundam statue. This crossover between the Space Battleship Yamato and Mobile Suit Gundam series is a must-see for fans.
