TV anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto held its first-ever special event, “TV Anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Special Event ~Summer Garden Party 2026~,” on August 15, 2026, at Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall in Kanagawa. The venue was decorated with display panels featuring event visuals of Maomao, Jinshi, and other characters in gorgeous attire.
Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is a popular palace mystery entertainment that follows Maomao, a young girl serving as a poison taster in the imperial court, as she solves various difficult cases. The series has surpassed 45 million copies in cumulative circulation. The first TV anime season aired from October 2023 to March 2024, and the second season ran from January to July 2025, consistently ranking high on various streaming platforms. The third season is set to begin on October 2, and the long-awaited theatrical film, Gekijouban Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Bouhi no Hihou, is scheduled for release on December 11.
The event featured a star-studded cast including Aoi Yuki (Maomao), Takeo Otsuka (Jinshi), Katsuyuki Konishi (Koushun), Atsumi Tanezaki (Gyokuyou), Asami Seto (Shisui/Rouran), Misaki Kuno (Shouran), Tatsumaru Tachibana (Bashan), and Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Rahan), along with insert song artists Yuiko Oohara and Rimu Miyake.
Two performances were held, delivering a rich program that included live dubbing revisiting the stories of the first and second seasons, a reading drama of a newly written episode, and talk segments with the cast. Additionally, the latest information on the third season was unveiled in front of 4,000 fans gathered at the venue, heightening anticipation for the series’ future.
The venue was also adorned with display panels using the event visuals, as well as past poster visuals from the first TV anime season and panels featuring Maomao and Jinshi from the upcoming theatrical film.
