The Ultraman series is marking its 60th anniversary with a new merchandise lineup that pairs the artwork of manga artist Uchiyama Mamoru with bags from the popular brand Manhattan Portage. The items are planned by Shogakukan’s business trend media outlet DIME and are now open for preorder through Shogakukan Hyakkaten.

A 60th Anniversary Project Built Around “with U”

2026 brings the Ultraman series to its 60th anniversary. Since Ultraman first appeared on television on July 10, 1966, the character has walked alongside each era, at times moving viewers and delivering messages of courage, hope and compassion. The “Ultraman Series 60th Anniversary Project” is currently underway, and the anniversary work Ultraman Teo is set to begin on July 4 with a broadcast and streaming launch across six TV Tokyo affiliate stations and simultaneous worldwide distribution.
This collaboration came together through an Ultraman feature in the December 2026 issue of DIME. Centered on the 60th anniversary core message “with U,” the lineup offers items that let fans of all ages, from children to adults, keep a sense of Ultraman close in everyday life.
Uchiyama Mamoru Ultraman Work Design T-Shirts

The “Uchiyama Mamoru Ultraman Work Design T-Shirts” are priced at 5,000 yen each and come in nine varieties. The designs draw on precious original artwork from Uchiyama Mamoru, who handled numerous manga adaptations of the Ultraman series for Shogakukan’s educational magazines and other publications, selecting famous scenes and illustrations. Alongside Ultraman and Ultraman Taro, the shirts also feature Uchiyama’s own original Ultra heroes and monsters. Shipping is scheduled for early December 2026.
Manhattan Portage Messenger Bag in Veg Leather

The “ULTRAMAN SERIES 60th×Manhattan Portage Messenger Bag VEG Leather” is priced at 19,800 yen. A bold Ultraman motif is printed across a flap made of veg leather material that gives the bag a matte texture and a subdued look. Waterproof and highly durable, the bag also uses a magnet closure for easy opening and closing, balancing design with practicality. Shipping is planned for around March 2027.
Manhattan Portage Jogger Bag

Also joining the lineup is the “ULTRAMAN SERIES 60th×Manhattan Portage Jogger Bag,” priced at 9,900 yen including tax. Based on Manhattan Portage’s bestselling Jogger Bag and customized with Ultraman styling, it features a limited marble-pattern logo inspired by the opening of Ultra Seven. On the opposite side, a newly drawn illustration places Ultra Seven and Ultraman Zero together as parent and child. This item is likewise scheduled to ship around March 2027.
