About *Natsume Yuujinchou*
*Natsume Yuujinchou* (also widely known as *Natsume’s Book of Friends*) is a captivating supernatural contract tale based on the manga by Midorikawa Yuki, which is serialized in “Monthly LaLa.” The story introduces us to Natsume Takashi, a lonely boy burdened with a peculiar secret: he can see yokai, spirits invisible to most. His life takes a significant turn after he inherits the “Yuujinchou” (Book of Friends) – a mysterious item that belonged to his grandmother, Reiko, who possessed formidable spiritual power.
Since gaining possession of the book, Natsume finds himself constantly pursued by yokai, all eager to reclaim their names from the book. He spends his days entangled in the various contracts his grandmother made with these spirits, navigating a busy and often perilous life with his self-proclaimed bodyguard, the eccentric and powerful yokai, Nyanko-sensei.
The TV anime series began its journey with the first season in 2008 and has since aired an impressive six seasons. Fans have deeply connected with the characters, brought to life by an exceptional voice cast.
