Ninja to Gokudou is a thrilling TV anime adaptation based on the fierce battle manga by Kondo Shinsuke, which has been captivating readers in Kodansha’s “Comic DAYS”. This action-packed series unveils a modern world where the ancient, deep-seated karma and deadly rivalry between ninjas and yakuza, first forged in the shadows of the Great Fire of Meireki during the Edo period, violently reignites. Episode 1: “Shinoha to Kiwami” Synopsis
The debut episode, titled “Shinoha to Kiwami”, dives straight into the heart of the conflict and the characters’ intertwined lives. We meet Tanaka Shinoha, a young man burdened by a past trauma that has left him unable to smile. One fateful day, he crosses paths with Kimura Kiwami, a seemingly ordinary salaryman who shares his profound love for the same anime.
Despite their immediate camaraderie and shared interests, both men unknowingly belong to two ancient, warring factions – the Ninjas and the Yakuza – who have been locked in a bloody struggle since the Edo period.
Oblivious to each other’s true affiliations, Shinoha courageously infiltrates a yakuza hideout alone, determined to rescue a kidnapped governor. The underworld whispers a chilling warning: “If you cause trouble in the shadows, a Ninja will come calling” – a prophecy that is about to unfold.
