Aoyama Goushou’s detective manga, Meitantei Konan, has captivated readers in “Shuukan Shounen Sunday” since 1994. The thrilling story follows high school detective Kudou Shinichi, who is transformed into a child by a mysterious Black Organization. Reborn as “Edogawa Konan,” he continues to tackle challenging cases, all while trying to uncover the truth behind his transformation. The 107th volume of the manga was released in April 2025.
The TV anime adaptation began broadcasting in 1996 and has continued for over 25 years, surpassing an impressive 1100 episodes. Its 28th theatrical film, Meitantei Konan: Sekigan no Flashback (which can be translated as “Meitantei Konan: Flashback of the One-Eyed Man”), released this year, depicted a captivating mystery set in the snowy mountains of Nagano Prefecture with Mouri Kogorou and Yamato Kansuke playing key roles, achieving a remarkable box office revenue of 14.6 billion yen. For the upcoming 29th film, slated for Golden Week 2026, it has been announced that Sawashiro Miyuki will be taking over from Tanaka Atsuko as the voice of Hagiwara Chihaya, the white motorcycle police squadron leader from the Kanagawa Prefectural Police, who will be a main character in the story.

The “Meitantei Konan Land” national tour is currently underway, with its Shiga venue at “Mitsui Outlet Park Shiga Ryuuo” in Ryuoocho, Gamougori, Shiga Prefecture, running from November 14 to November 24.
