■ Melodies That Resonate Deeply with Anime Fans’ Hearts

This survey saw a wide variety of songs receive votes, reflecting the diverse tastes of anime fans. We’ve gathered some reader comments to highlight what makes these tunes so special.

A notable trend was the strong response for theme songs and insert songs performed by the characters themselves, which truly highlights the deep connection fans have with the world of their favorite anime.

For “Gotoubun no Hanayome ~Arigatou no Hana~” by Nakano-ke no Itsutsugo from Eiga Gotoubun no Hanayome, one fan commented: “The gentle piano-based melody and tune, like a lullaby, drifts me to sleep. I listen to it every night before bed. It would probably sound wonderful as a music box tune too.”

Regarding “Sailing!” performed by Takaraya Minato (CV: Igarashi Masa) from KING OF PRISM -Shiny Seven Stars-, a reader shared: “Minato-kun is like the reliable older brother figure at Edel Rose, the Prism Star training academy. Such a husbando! His singing voice offers such a sense of comfort, almost like coming home. In the anime, he even gently says, ‘If you’re hungry, come back to me.'”

A fan praised “Kaimin! Anmin! Suyarisu Seikatsu” by Suya Risuhime (CV: Minase Inori) from Maoujou de Oyasumi, saying: “It has a musical-like melody where Suya Risuhime wreaks havoc in the demon castle in pursuit of her ideal sleep. By the time the song finishes, you might just find yourself peacefully drifting off with a ‘suyaa…'”

Votes also came in for international titles, such as “A Whole New World” from Aladdin. One fan wrote: “It’s an insert song from Disney’s timeless classic. It plays during the scene where Aladdin and Jasmine have a night sky date on the magic carpet. It’s such a romantic song that makes you feel like you’re flying through the air.”

Furthermore, songs from long-running, beloved series and Studio Ghibli productions also garnered significant support.

For CLAIRE’s “FLY ME TO THE MOON” from Shin Seiki Evangelion, a fan noted: “It’s famous as a jazz standard, but when I see the moon at night, I can’t help but feel drawn into the world of Eva.”

Atari Kousuke’s “Natsu Yuuzora” from Natsume Yuujinchou received this comment: “Even though summer is over, the relaxed melody is incredibly soothing. All the theme songs for Natsume Yuujinchou are calming, but this one is definitely a standout.”

Ogawa Nanao’s “Tsukiakari Funwari Ochite Kuru Yoru” from Crayon Shinchan was complimented: “The songs I want to listen to change with the season and time, but the melody, singing voice, and lyrics of this song are so healing, perfect for relaxing on a long autumn night. The ending animation, showing Shinchan picking up his dad at the station, was so heartwarming.”

Tsuji Ayano-san’s “Kaze ni Naru” from Neko no Ongaeshi was described by a fan: “Listening to Tsuji Ayano-san’s gentle voice and lyrics makes me feel as warm as if I’m feeling a spring breeze. It’s a masterpiece that can bring tears to your eyes.”

Even current hits like LiSA’s “Homura” from Gekijouban Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Ressha-hen received votes. A fan shared: “It reminds me of Rengoku-san’s fierce battle in the movie, but it’s a song that carries his spirit, making my heart burn with warmth.”

From songs reflecting character emotions to tunes that perfectly complement their stories, and even timeless classics cherished across generations, the lineup of heartwarming anime songs is truly impressive. Below, we’ve listed all the songs that received votes in our survey.
