Which TV Anime Do You Want a Movie Adaptation for? 3rd Place: “Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun”, 2nd Place: “Maebashi Witches”, 1st Place is… [Movie Day]
December 1st is Movie Day. This commemorative day was established in 1956, and on this occasion, movie theaters often offer discounted admission fees and hold special events related to cinema.
In recent years, theatrical adaptations of popular anime series have been gaining immense popularity, much like the currently screening Chainsaw Man: Reze-hen and Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou Akaza Sairai (also known as “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie – Mugenjou Arc Part 1: Akaza Returns”). Many readers likely prefer the immersive experience of enjoying an entire story in one sitting at a movie theater, rather than the weekly broadcast or streaming of individual episodes.
With this in mind, Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Which anime do you want to see a movie adaptation of?” We received responses from 182 individuals during the survey period, which ran from November 15th to November 20th. The gender ratio was fairly balanced, with approximately 55 percent male and 45 percent female respondents. As for age demographics, about 30 percent were 19 years old or younger, while respondents in their 20s and 30s each accounted for approximately 20 percent.
