Children’s Practical Book ‘Gakkoo de wa Oshiete Kurenai Koto’ Gets TV Anime in July, Starring Chisuga Haruka, Hanamori Yumiri, Koichi Makoto, More

The children’s practical book series *Gakkou de wa Oshiete Kurenai Taisetsu na Koto*, which has surpassed 4 million copies in total circulation, is getting a TV anime adaptation. It is scheduled to begin airing on TV Tokyo in Summer 2025. For the “Seiri Seiton Hen” (Tidying Up Edition) arc, the cast will include Chisuuga Haruka, Hanamori Yumiri, Koichi Makoto, Ochiai Fukushi, and Oosuzu Kouki, among others.

*Gakkou de wa Oshiete Kurenai Taisetsu na Koto* (which can be translated as “Important Things Not Taught in School”) is a popular children’s practical book series that allows kids to funly learn useful skills for their future through manga, going beyond the scope of school subjects. Since its first publication in July 2015, it has become a long-selling series, boasting over 4 million copies in cumulative circulation. The series offers a diverse lineup covering topics that resonate with children’s interests and worries, such as tidying up, time management, study tips, and human relationships. As the series celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025, this marks its first-ever anime adaptation.

Directed by Nakazawa Kana and animated by IMAGICA Infos(Imageworks Studio), the anime will feature elementary school students grappling with common issues. These include being poor at tidying up, prioritizing games over homework, or not achieving desired grades.

Such their before unique and reliable “masters” or experts who appear before these children to passionately teach them important things not typically covered in school but essential to learn. Through their encounters with these masters, the children will discover hints for solving their problems and find new ways of thinking.

Furthermore, Hanamori Yumiri will portray Katatsu Rika, Seita’s supportive and kind younger sister who encourages his tidying efforts. Oosuzu Kouki is cast as Kattan, the family dog. Koichi Makoto will voice the mother of Seita and Rika. The cast members have also shared their thoughts on the project. Seita-kun often says “Oh no, oh no~!” but when you look closely, he doesn’t seem all that panicked, which is quite similar to myself (lol). I’ll do my best to properly portray such a slightly scatterbrained Seita-kun!

Hanamori Yumiri (as Rika, Seita’s Sister)

Throughout the entire story, I couldn’t help but exclaim “Oh, that happens!” countless times.

When playing Seton Sensei, I focused on valuing “sensei-like qualities” while being conscious of explaining things in a way that is easy for viewers to understand. Did you all know? Apparently, Seton Sensei’s name comes from “Seiton” (整理整頓 – seiri seiton, meaning tidying up)! How cute.

I’m Oosuzu Kouki, playing the role of Kattan. Kattan is an innocent, somewhat unfortunate, and emotionally expressive dog. Since he’s often with the protagonist Seita-kun, I aimed to portray a relationship more like siblings than owner and pet! Let’s all tidy up together!!
