MAPPA-Produced MARO17 Anime CM Featuring Hosoya Yoshimasa, Miyano Mamoru, and Kimura Ryohei Sparks Demand for Full Anime Adaptation!
The men’s care brand MARO17, developed by NatureLab, has unveiled a new anime commercial featuring the voice talents of Hosoya Yoshimasa, Miyano Mamoru, and now, Kimura Ryohei. The video’s exceptional quality has become a hot topic, with fans clamoring, “When is the anime adaptation coming?”
This marks the third animated TV CM for “MARO17,” following previous installments that received international advertising awards. The latest CM is produced by the renowned studio MAPPA, known for hit series like Jujutsu Kaisen, Shingeki no Kyojin The Final Season, and Chainsaw Man. The commercial features a collaborative song by Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra and TK (Ling Tosite Sigure).
The story kicks off when a mysterious child appears before Tetsu, a down-on-his-luck private detective, along with an unsigned letter. Tetsu takes on the role of the child’s protector and, joined by Sakuchiyo and Shimon, sets out for the letter’s destination. However, guided by the enigmatic number “17,” they find themselves entangled in unsettling events everywhere they go. What deep secret does the number “17” truly hide, and what fate awaits them beyond it?
The video’s quality and intriguing storyline have truly captured the interest of anime fans. Social media is abuzz with comments like:
* “The quality is too good, like an anime movie… when is it getting animated?”
* “Seriously, I want a proper anime adaptation!!!!”
* “Why is this just a commercial?”
* “OMG, it’s the best wwww”

* “It’s too good for just a CM! I seriously want to see it as a full-length anime, in fact, I want them to make it.”
These enthusiastic responses highlight the strong desire among viewers to see this short animation expanded into a complete series.
Adding to the anticipation, Hosoya Yoshimasa, who voices Tetsu, commented, “I’ve heard that it was created so that viewers would feel, ‘I want to know what happens next,’ and ‘I want to watch the main story of this tale.'” This has fueled further hope among viewers, with reactions like “Is there a chance?? Seriously waiting for the main anime story.”
Furthermore, Shimon, voiced by Kimura Ryohei, joins as a new character in this installment. Fans reacted with excitement like “Ryohei-san joining is for real?!!!” and “I love it!!!!!”.
