The highly anticipated TV anime, `Kimi to Koete Koi ni Naru`, is officially set to begin its broadcast on October 14, 2025. This exciting news was unveiled in the recently released main promotional video, which also revealed that the charming Kisara will be voiced by the talented Kakuma Ai. Adding to the excitement, the opening theme song has been confirmed as “Kusuguttai.” by the popular music unit CHiCO with HoneyWorks.

About `Kimi to Koete Koi ni Naru`: A Love Story Transcending Boundaries
`Kimi to Koete Koi ni Naru`, often affectionately shortened to `Kimikoe`, is a captivating youth romance story based on the manga by Yuzuki Chihiro. This beloved series is serialized in “Manga Mee,” Shueisha’s popular manga application catering to female readers.
The story unfolds in the year 20XX, in a town where beast-humans and humans coexist, albeit with certain divisions. Our protagonist, Asaka Manri, a high school student, finds her world shifting when Hidaka Tsunagu, a beast-human special exchange student, transfers into her class. Initially, Manri is bewildered by the presence of a beast-human, a concept entirely new to her. However, as they spend more time together as classmates, she finds herself increasingly drawn to Tsunagu’s gentle and pure nature.
Conversely, Tsunagu is utterly enchanted by the “sweet scent” that Manri emits, and quickly finds himself captivated by her beauty and strength. Yet, in this world, beast-humans are separated from humans by a metaphorical “wall,” and even simple friendliness between the two species draws curious and often judgmental stares. Romance, therefore, is almost unthinkable. The burning question remains: What fate awaits the love between these two individuals, a love that dares to transcend species?
For the TV anime adaptation, the multi-talented Itagaki Shin is taking on the roles of director, series composer, and scriptwriter. Animation production is being handled by Millepensee. Earlier announcements confirmed Iwami Manaka as the voice of Asaka Manri, Eguchi Takuya as Hidaka Tsunagu, and Nishiyama Koutarou as Aida Yukihiro.
The Latest PV: A Glimpse into the Romance
The recently unveiled main promotional video, perfectly synchronized with CHiCO with HoneyWorks’ “Kusuguttai.” opening theme, offers a delightful preview of the series. The PV beautifully illustrates the heartwarming, yet sometimes bittersweet, journey of youth set against a high school backdrop. It highlights the fated, species-transcending encounter between the human protagonist, Asaka Manri (voiced by Iwami Manaka), and the beast-human, Hidaka Tsunagu (voiced by Eguchi Takuya). The video also hints at the budding romantic feelings of their classmate, Aida Yukihiro (voiced by Nishiyama Koutarou).
Notably, this PV also confirmed that Kakuma Ai will be lending her voice to Kisara, a charming cat-type beast-human, who shares a connection with Tsunagu. Both Kakuma-san and CHiCO have generously provided comments on their involvement with the project, which you can find below.

Furthermore, beginning August 7, a special talk video series for `Kimi to Koete Koi ni Naru` will be released on Shueisha DeNA Projects’ official YouTube channel. The series will feature Iwami Manaka, the voice of Asaka Manri, as the main MC, joined by Eguchi Takuya (Hidaka Tsunagu) and Nishiyama Koutarou (Aida Yukihiro).
This four-part series promises to be a treasure trove for fans, delivering insights into the highlights of the work and the unique charm of the characters through a variety of engaging segments. It’s an absolute must-watch to get fully prepared and hyped for the main broadcast!
The TV anime `Kimi to Koete Koi ni Naru` is slated to begin airing on October 14 at 23:30 JST. We eagerly anticipate further updates and exciting news about the series in the coming weeks.

Kakuma Ai’s Thoughts

Manri, a human, is someone who can imagine the other person’s feelings and act accordingly.
Tsunagu, a beast-human, is someone who, out of consideration for the other person, can sometimes choose *not* to act.
Even though their positions are different, I would be delighted if everyone could watch and see how Kisara interacts with these two kind individuals who genuinely care for the people important to them! By the way, Kisara is a cat-type beast-human.
I’m truly looking forward to seeing her tail move in the animation…!
CHiCO’s Message

This is CHiCO with HoneyWorks, and we are incredibly honored to be in charge of the opening theme for the TV anime `Kimi to Koete Koi ni Naru`! The story of love transcending species in this work truly made my heart flutter with “kyun”! The moments when they grow closer and their distance shrinks are so heartwarming to witness! I can’t take my eyes off how these two, who are just discovering love and feeling all fluttery, will depict their romance!
For the opening theme “Kusuguttai.”, I poured all of Manri’s romantic feelings into the song. I would be very happy if many people listen to it. Please enjoy the song along with the anime!
