“Uchuu Senkan Yamato” Celebrates 50 Years with JNTHED Tribute Art and Special Exhibitions!
The anime series Uchuu Senkan Yamato, a beloved classic, is gearing up for the theatrical release of its latest remake series installment, Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199 Dai Yon Shou Mizuiro no Otome, on October 10, 2025. To commemorate the TV broadcast’s 50th anniversary, a stunning tribute illustration by JNTHED has been unveiled. Furthermore, it has been announced that this illustration, alongside impressive dioramas from a Monthly Hobby Japan project, will be specially exhibited at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo starting September 19.

A Legacy of Space Exploration
The original Uchuu Senkan Yamato series first graced TV screens on October 6, 1974, marking its 50th anniversary last year. The newest addition to this legendary saga, Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199, reinterprets the classic films Yamato yo Towa ni and Uchuu Senkan Yamato III, reorganizing them into an epic seven-chapter, 26-episode series with fresh perspectives.
Plot Synopsis: Dai Yon Shou Mizuiro no Otome
In Dai Yon Shou Mizuiro no Otome (which can be translated as “Chapter 4: The Aquamarine Maiden”), the Space Battleship Yamato finally reaches the new Garmillas homeworld, Galman. Here, not only is Supreme Commander Abelt Dessler waiting, but also Sasha, now a grown 17-year-old young woman. Kodai Susumu’s heart is torn between confusion and joy as he faces this impossible reunion with the young girl he once lost. Meanwhile, back on Earth, the Mother Dezarium’s plan enters a new, ominous phase. Mori Yuki appears at a treacherous social gathering, clad in a formal dress, standing by the enemy, Alphonz. What hidden resolve does she harbor in her heart?
As the story unfolds, the Rajendra Fleet of the Bolar Federation, allied with Planet Birth, invades the Galman system, drawing the Yamato into a conflict between two major powers. With planet-destroying missiles bearing down, can the Yamato save Galman and uncover the true identity of the “Witch of Uraria”? The stakes have never been higher for the crew of the Yamato.

A Breathtaking Tribute and Special Exhibitions
The recently unveiled tribute illustration, celebrating half a century of the enduring Uchuu Senkan Yamato series, was specially drawn by JNTHED. He is renowned for his exceptional mechanical design work on numerous projects, including the popular TV anime Kidou Senshi Gundam Suisei no Majo. His expertise brings a fresh yet reverent perspective to the iconic space battleship.
Adding to the excitement, from September 19, the entrance of Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo will host a special exhibition featuring this magnificent illustration. Alongside it, dioramas crafted for a special project by Monthly Hobby Japan will be showcased even before their official publication. Furthermore, MOVIX Hiroshima Eki will also begin a new exhibition on the same day. This will include original artwork from Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199 Dai Yon Shou Mizuiro no Otome, complementing the already displayed 1/100 scale model of the Space Battleship Yamato. Fans are highly encouraged not to miss these unique opportunities to immerse themselves in the world of Yamato.
