In the vibrant worlds of anime and games, teacher characters consistently capture the hearts of fans. Their personalities are incredibly diverse, ranging from hot-blooded types who genuinely connect with every student, to strict but deeply caring Spartan-sensei, and even some anti-role models who might not command respect but still leave an impact.
Following last year’s success, Anime! Anime! once again invited readers to participate in a survey titled “Who is your favorite ‘Teacher’ Character?”. The survey ran from September 27th to October 1st, gathering responses from 606 individuals. The demographic breakdown showed a majority of female respondents at approximately 75 percent, while males made up about 25 percent. A significant portion of the participants were younger fans, with those aged 19 and under accounting for about 60 percent, and those in their 20s making up approximately 15 percent.

Powerful Teachers Guide Their Students!
First Place
Taking the top spot for an impressive sixth consecutive year is Korosensei from Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, garnering approximately 32 percent of the votes.
Fans showered Korosensei with praise, with comments like, “Even though he’s a super-creature capable of traveling at Mach 20, he understands his students better than anyone. He’s the ideal teacher who would sacrifice himself to protect his pupils. I’ve often wished Korosensei was my homeroom teacher!” Another reader shared, “His one-on-one lessons, utilizing his tentacles and clones, are truly spectacular. But what’s most incredible is his heart for his students. He doesn’t shy away from the harsh realities of life, yet he always encourages them with uplifting words.” He’s celebrated not just for teaching academics, but for imparting invaluable life lessons.
This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the anime, with re-broadcasts captivating audiences. Many expressed their emotional journey, saying, “Initially, he was just an assassination target, but as trust grew, the students’ goal shifted to wanting to save their teacher. That development was deeply moving.” With the new movie, Gekijouban “Ansatsu Kyoushitsu” Minna no Jikan, slated for release in March 2026, Korosensei’s popularity is set to soar even higher, securing him the number one spot with even greater support than last year.
Second Place
Coming in at second place for the fourth year in a row is Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen, with approximately 12 percent of the votes.
Fans admire him as “the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer who understands that being strong alone isn’t enough, choosing instead to train the next generation—that’s incredibly cool.” Others highlighted his unique charm: “He always talks casually, but his conviction as an educator is genuine. His line, ‘You’re not allowed to take away young people’s youth from them. Nobody is,’ truly reveals his policy.” Many also expressed a desire to be his student, saying, “I’d love to be Gojo-sensei’s student and hear him say, ‘It’s okay, I’m the strongest.’ The absolute sense of security he provides is unmatched!” His overwhelming strength and numerous iconic lines continue to resonate with fans.
On November 7th, Gekijouban Jujutsu Kaisen “Shibuya Jihen Tokubetsu Henshuban” x “Shimetu Kaiyuu Senkou Jouei” is scheduled for release, and TV anime Season 3, “Shimetu Kaiyuu Zenpen,” will follow in January 2026, indicating Gojo-sensei’s enduring presence in the anime world.
Third Place
Securing third place is Doi Hansuke from Nintama Rantarou, rising significantly from last year’s seventh place with about 8 percent of the votes.
Doi-sensei is the diligent reinforcement teacher for Class Ha at the Ninja Academy. Fans describe him as “a hard-working individual who tirelessly watches over the mischievous students of Class Ha, often getting stomachaches from their antics. Despite being the straight-man, his endearing dislike for kneaded products and surprisingly tough backstory make him even more charming the more you learn about him.” Another reader loved how “he uses chalk, blackboard erasers, and even attendance registers as weapons in battle, which feels so perfectly like a teacher.”
Comments also highlighted his bond with his students: “The episode ‘Doi-sensei to Kirimaru no Dan’ explored his relationship with Kirimaru and his past, which was incredibly moving.” Fans will be pleased to know that Gekijouban Nintama Rantarou Dokutake Ninja-tai Saikyou no Gunshi, released last year, is scheduled for a re-screening starting December 5th.

And for Ginbachi-sensei from 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei, scheduled to broadcast from October 6th, a fan commented, “Even in this spin-off as a teacher, his irresponsible and unmotivated personality remains unchanged. The mere image of him standing at the podium, licking a lollipop with dead eyes, is hilarious!”
