Detective Conan’s Artistic Side Shines in New Ani-Art Series & Choro-Q Toys!

Fresh from the long-running TV anime Meitantei Conan (also known as Case Closed), the popular “Ani-Art Series” is back with its 10th wave of merchandise, featuring character illustrations reimagined with an artistic flair. Animate’s online store has kicked things off with an exclusive advance reservation campaign.

The mystery manga Meitantei Conan, serialized by Aoyama Gōshō in Weekly Shōnen Sunday since 1994, follows high school detective Kudō Shinichi, who was transformed into a child by a mysterious黑衣の組織 (Black Organization). Now living as Edogawa Conan, he solves tough cases. Volume 107 of the manga was released in April 2025.

The TV anime adaptation began in 1996 and has been on the air for over 25 years, with over 1,100 episodes broadcast. The 28th movie, Meitantei Conan: Sekigan no Flashback (which can be translated as Detective Conan: The One-Eyed Flashback), released in 2025, featured Mōri Kogorō and Yamato Kansuke in a story set in the snowy mountains of Nagano Prefecture, earning a whopping 14.6 billion yen at the box office. The 29th film, Meitantei Conan: Highway no Datenshi, is set to premiere on April 10, 2026.

The 10th wave of the “Ani-Art Series” features Edogawa Conan, Mōri Ran, Haibara Ai, Sera Masumi, Hagiwara Chihaya, Yokomizo Jūgo, Matsuda Jinpei, and Hagiwara Kenji. This popular series is known for its soft and delicate artistic expressions. The Ani-Art Series is an AMNIBUS original line that reimagines characters with a fresh, attractive touch.

This time, Animate’s online shop is running an “Animate Advance Reservation Campaign.” The advance reservation goods include five types of trading items, plus products like “BIG Acrylic Stands” and “B8 Hard Cases.”

And that’s not all! Also making an appearance are “Meitantei Conan Choro-Q” toys, where the outfits of Edogawa Conan and Haibara Ai become the body design of the toy car!

Takara Tomy’s “Choro-Q,” first released in 1980, features a high-performance pullback motor inside a cute, deformed car body and remains beloved as the “cute car that putters along.”

During the “Animate Advance Reservation Campaign” running until January 25, for every 1,100 yen (tax included) spent on eligible character goods reserved via Animate’s online store, customers will receive one of eight possible bonus “Postcards.”
