Detective Conan TCG Pop-Up Event Lands in Shibuya!
Calling all detectives and card game fans! An exciting event for the “Meitantei Conan Toreedingu Kaado Geemu” (Detective Conan Trading Card Game) is about to begin. Titled ‘Meitantei Conan Toreedingu Kaado Geemu: Tantei Kouryuu-jo in SHIBUYA’ (Detective Conan Trading Card Game: Detective Exchange in SHIBUYA), this pop-up will run from Friday, January 23rd to Sunday, February 8th, 2026 at the Tokyo Anime Center in DNP PLAZA SHIBUYA.
About the Iconic Series
For those new to the scene, Meitantei Conan (also known internationally as Case Closed) is the legendary detective manga by Aoyama Gosho that has been serialized in Weekly Shounen Sunday since 1994. The story follows high school detective Kudou Shinichi, who is transformed into a child by a mysterious organization in black. Taking the alias Edogawa Conan, he continues to solve baffling cases while hiding his true identity.
What to Expect at the Event
This event is designed to be fun for everyone—from total TCG beginners to seasoned duelists. The main attraction is a special exhibit featuring never-before-seen line art of five iconic characters: Conan, Heiji, Kidd, Akai, and Amuro. These illustrations were drawn specifically for the TCG by the original creator, Aoyama Gosho-sensei himself!
But that’s not all. You’ll also find comprehensive panel displays showing every card released so far, perfect for collectors planning their next move. A dedicated free交流 (kouyuu – exchange) space will be set up for attendees to mingle, trade cards, or just chat about the series. It’s also a great spot for commemorative photos.
