
Summer anime Buchikire Reijou wa Fukushuu wo Chikaimashita. ~Madousho no Chikara de Sokoku wo Tatakitsubushimasu~ has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 1, titled “Despair and the Vow of Revenge,” which begins airing on July 6, 2026.

The series is based on the light novel by Hagure Metabo, winner of the HJ Novel Taisho 2021 (first half), published by Hobby Japan under their HJ Novels imprint. A manga adaptation is also serialized. It is a refreshing, revenge fantasy about a noblewoman’s great reversal.
On the night of the founding festival, Duke’s daughter Elizabeth is suddenly accused of false crimes by the crown prince, who has turned his affections to another lady. She is stripped of her engagement and thrown into a dungeon. Betrayed by the country to which she devoted everything, Elizabeth seizes the powerful artifact “Seven Grimoires” and decides to flee to a neighboring nation. With the help of Viscount Lucas of the neighboring country, she begins a new life and manages a trading company, all while harboring a fierce desire for revenge against her homeland. The story follows the beautiful genius noblewoman, who, after being jilted and imprisoned, wields the strongest grimoire to manipulate connections, economy, and military force in her retaliation against the traitors.
Episode 1 “Despair and the Vow of Revenge” Synopsis

Duke’s daughter Elizabeth has served as the crown prince’s fiancée, handling state affairs and working for the people. But on the night of the founding festival, the prince, who has fallen for another lady, frames her with false charges and suddenly announces the dissolution of their engagement and her imprisonment in the dungeon.

Abandoned by the king and her own father the prime minister, Elizabeth is betrayed by the country she gave everything to. She takes the artifact “Seven Grimoires” and decides to flee to the neighboring empire of Uthia. “To everyone in my homeland who betrayed me, are you ready?”

Episode 1 of Buchikire Reijou wa Fukushuu wo Chikaimashita. airs on July 6 (Monday) on TV Tokyo, BS11, AT-X, and other channels.
