Anticipating Episode 43: “Festival” of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Season 2 Part 2! Rika Fukami Joins Cast as the Mysterious Jinmi!
From the spring anime *Kusuriya no Hitorigoto* Season 2 Part 2, the synopsis and preview cuts for episode 43, titled “Festival,” airing on Friday, May 23, 2025, have been released. Furthermore, it has been revealed that Fukami Rika will be voicing Jinmi, a cold woman with an unusual aura who appears in this episode.
*Kusuriya no Hitorigoto* is based on the popular light novel series by Hyuuga Natsu, published under Hero Bunko (Imagica Infos). The series has also been adapted into manga in “Big Gangan” and “Sunday GX,” boasting a cumulative total of over 40 million copies sold. Set in a medieval Eastern-inspired palace, it follows Maomao, a girl serving as a “poison taster,” as she solves various difficult cases occurring within the imperial court.
The second season, which began airing in January 2025, has garnered significant attention, consistently ranking high on various streaming platforms. The excitement continues to build with the first-ever “TV Anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Exhibition” which started on March 26, and a collaboration event planned for this summer at Universal Studios Japan.
Episode 43: “Festival” Synopsis
The story picks up with Maomao, who has been taken away from the inner palace and arrives at a village hidden deep within the forest. A festival is coincidentally taking place in the village, and Maomao participates with Shisui, wearing fox masks. On the way to the shrine, Shisui tells her about the legends of this land and the meaning behind the fox masks.
Even after returning from the festival, Maomao feels a sense of unease about her situation, as she is not restrained, and about Suirei and Shisui’s actions. Eventually, Maomao confronts Suirei about something.
Episode 43 Preview Cuts
Furthermore, it has been revealed that the role of Jinmi, a cold woman with a formidable aura who appears in episode 43, will be voiced by Fukami Rika. Keep a close eye on how she will interact with Maomao and how her appearance will impact the unfolding story.
