A Legacy of Mecha Policing

For those new to the scene, Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor (Patlabor: The Mobile Police) is a legendary franchise that began all the way back in 1988. It was created by the collective known as HEADGEAR, which included visionary minds like Oshii Mamoru, Itou Kazunori, Izubuchi Yutaka, Takada Akemi, and Yuuki Masami.

Starting with a manga and OVA, the series exploded in popularity, leading to multiple OVA series, a TV anime, and three theatrical films. The last movie, WXIII Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor, was released in 2002. More recently, studio Khara produced a short film titled Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor: Reboot in 2016, keeping the spirit of the series alive. Patlabor: EZY is the exciting next step in this enduring sci-fi saga.
