A collaboration project has started between six Kodansha manga series—Blue Period, Blue Lock, Cells at Work!, Medalist, Shingeki no Kyojin, and Daiya no A—and Waseda Academy, an academic prep school for elementary, junior high, and high school students. The new summer intensive course ads feature characters like Jinpachi Ego from Blue Lock and Levi from Shingeki no Kyojin, with new visuals and a web movie now available.

This collaboration project, with the theme “There are people who teach with full seriousness,” shines a spotlight on the ‘teachers and guides’ depicted in the six popular Kodansha manga series.
From Blue Period, Shouko Saeki, the art teacher and art club advisor at protagonist Yatora Yaguchi’s high school; from Blue Lock, Jinpachi Ego, the acerbic coach with full authority over the “Blue Lock” project; and from Cells at Work!, the neutrophil (white blood cell) that plays a central role in immunity, protecting the body from danger.

Furthermore, from Medalist, Tsukasa Akeuraji, who empathizes with the circumstances and passion of protagonist Inori Yuitsu and devotes himself to raising her as a coach; from Shingeki no Kyojin, Levi, the captain of the Survey Corps and hailed as “humanity’s strongest soldier,” to which protagonist Eren belongs; and from Daiya no A, Tetsushin Katagiri, the coach of Seidou High School’s baseball team, to which protagonist Eijun Sawamura belongs.

Waseda Academy Summer Intensive Course New Ad Web Movie
These new ad visuals are being released on the Waseda Academy official website and social media, and from May 11, they will also be displayed as digital signage in certain stations and along specific train lines in the Tokyo metropolitan area for a limited time. It is worth noting the encouraging messages unique to each work, depicted alongside striking copy.
Additionally, from May 8, a new web movie is also available on the special website to accompany the collaboration ads. Featuring character visuals from Blue Period, Blue Lock, Cells at Work!, Medalist, Shingeki no Kyojin, and Daiya no A, along with messages from those who “teach and guide,” it powerfully expresses the theme “There are people who teach with full seriousness.” Be sure to check out the video, which uses sounds such as paper rustling, page turning, and the click of a mechanical pencil to heighten the sense of being in a classroom.
