The live-action film adaptation of Blue Lock is set to release nationwide in Japan on August 7, 2026, and its theme song has been revealed as Ado’s new track “Monstruo.”
Based on the manga by Kaneshiro Muneyuki (story) and Nomura Yusuke (art), serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shonen category. The story follows 300 high school forwards gathered for the “Blue Lock” project—a ruthless selection program designed to create Japan’s ultimate striker for World Cup victory.
The TV anime aired for two consecutive cours starting October 2022, followed by Blue Lock: Episode Nagi in theaters in April 2024. The second TV anime season aired 14 episodes from October 2024, and a sequel was announced at the “Blue Lock Egoist Festa 2025” event in September 2025.
Now, the live-action film’s theme song is performed by Ado.

Ado’s Egoist Ascent
Ado has achieved remarkable milestones: the first female solo artist to hold a solo live at National Stadium, a world tour spanning 33 cities with over 500,000 attendees, a successful first dome tour, and an upcoming Nissan Stadium performance in July. Her powerful vocals recently captivated fans at a music festival in Los Angeles.
The theme song “Monstruo” is composed and arranged by the powerhouse duo Giga & TeddyLoid, who previously collaborated with Ado on the hits “Odoru” and “Utau.” This new Latin-influenced track is designed to make listeners want to dance. Lyrics are by ryo (supercell), forming a dream team of creators.
The title “Monstruo” is Spanish for “monster.” The song fuses versatile rap with Ado’s exceptional vocals, capturing the idea of awakening an inner monster to push forward higher than anyone else. It promises to be an anthem for summer 2026.
Ado’s Comment
Ado commented: “The title ‘Monstruo’ means ‘monster’ in Spanish. The song perfectly matches the work’s message—awakening your inner ‘monster’ and fighting to advance higher than anyone else. I hope you enjoy this wonderful collaboration, the film Blue Lock, and my new song ‘Monstruo’!”
Producer’s Comment
Producer Matsuhashi Shinzo shared: “I approached Ado with a passionate desire to create a globally appealing entertainment film for a new generation, and I asked her for a song that would follow in the footsteps of ‘Odoru’ and ‘Utau.’ Against all odds, this dream collaboration came true, and we received a thrilling new track! The word ‘egoist’ might sound selfish or negative, but that’s not the case. When the ‘true egoists’ depicted in this work come together, unprecedented team play is born, and we step into a world never seen before. The intense egoism of Giga, TeddyLoid, ryo, and Ado—and their summit-level collaboration—is proof of that. I want everyone to hear it and dance in the theater! Until the release, please enjoy the collaboration of the film’s world and the song in this trailer.”
