A new promotional video for the television anime Chainsaw Man: Assassin Arc has been released, along with major new announcements including a smartphone game project and the opening theme song by the rock band Maximum the Hormone.
During the MAPPA 15th Anniversary Lineup Presentation streamed on June 19 via MAPPA’s official YouTube channel, the studio unveiled the latest PV for the upcoming arc. The video shows assassins from around the world beginning to move against Denji, and also introduces new characters.
Additionally, a smartphone game project for Chainsaw Man was announced. The opening theme for the game is Maximum the Hormone’s new song “ALL THE LYNCH!! ALL THE MINCE!!” An opening movie produced by MAPPA set to this track was also revealed.
Commenting on the theme song, Maximum the Horn’s vocalist/guitarist Maximum the Ryo-kun said: “The version that plays this time is only 1 minute 29 seconds, but it’s a song that packs in all the images of Chainsaw Man inside me and races by in an instant. Don’t worry, the full version is already complete. It’s a masterpiece of about 4 minutes 30 seconds. I can see this becoming a staple song at our live shows. The future is the best! The future is the best! Come to think of it, when I played the demo for our band members, Daisuke-han started crying, saying, ‘I don’t know why, but it’s so good it made me cry’ (true story). Moments like that are why I feel a sense of purpose in making songs. I want everyone to hear the full version someday. But no release date yet! Don’t get mad! Violence is not allowed! I oppose violence! Just kidding.”
