The mobile game Love and Deepspace began distributing its latest update, “Eternal True Love,” on June 17. This update introduces a new memory series titled “One Act, One Encounter,” which kicks off with an invitation to a film festival bearing the same name. The stories are built around a unique concept: each scenario evokes a classic romance film, and the player character and her love interest find themselves pulled into the world of that very movie. We were given an early play opportunity, so here is a report on the stories for each character.
Note: The following contains spoilers for the early parts of the stories and settings related to the main plot. The movie motifs mentioned are the author’s own observations; the official source has not explicitly named any specific films.
Seiya: A Knight of Light Running on His Own Two Feet? A Tale of Two Feuding Houses and Forbidden Love

“Why does it have to be me, Seiya?” — That line might ring a bell for some. Two opposing houses, young lovers torn apart. Yes, it evokes that classic tragedy of forbidden love. In this world, the player character is the heir to a distinguished family, while Seiya belongs to the opposing side, with a 70-year feud between their houses. Two people who must not meet… just the setup makes your heart race!
Seiya is usually a mysterious Hunter who wields the Evol of light. But in this world, he seems to lack that power. To meet, he must overcome the “wall” of the family feud with nothing but his physical body. Yet he still swiftly protects the player when she is attacked on the road, and faces her honestly without lying — his core remains unchanged. It’s heartwarming to see that, power or not, his essence is the same.
What’s especially lovely are the scenes scattered throughout that seem to reference the movie: a conversation on a garden balcony — a romantic setup that makes your heart skip! The little trick of hiding a paper slip in a cookie, and the surprise kiss at parting — even without his power, he still knows how to charm.
But no matter how much they are drawn to each other, they are from opposing houses. Eventually their love is discovered, and the story takes on the air of a duel. Will this forbidden love follow the tragedy, or…? The night on the balcony and what comes after — please see for yourself.
Rei: The Ice Genius Doctor Tossed Around by Pride? A Story of Misunderstandings and a Proud Love

At their first meeting, Rei appears to break off his engagement with the player. Not just distant, but coldly pushing her away. Rei and the player enter a world of pride and prejudice, where a man and woman keep misunderstanding each other — evoking that classic British romance novel. The player is the heroine, and Rei is her fiancé.
Normally, Rei is a genius cardiac surgeon at Akso Hospital, a man who controls situations with his cold ice Evol. In this world, he does not reveal his medical profession and acts as a mere difficult aristocrat. Knowing that he usually devotes his life to saving others, seeing him hide that title adds a bittersweet layer.
Yet, despite his proposal to break the engagement and treat her as a stranger, he ends up negotiating over carrots (and carrot juice) that he supposedly dislikes, quietly works on translating medical texts and field research regardless of cost, and engages in a dance practice that feels like a scene from a shoujo manga. Even in the movie world, Rei’s charm remains — the ice-cold man’s clumsy way of closing the distance slowly wins you over.
As the story progresses, you notice that Rei, who should be pushing her away, actually holds her back at crucial moments. The cool man shows a hint of weakness at just the right time, but still does what needs to be done — that contrast is too much! Please see for yourself where the two end up after all the misunderstandings.
Homura: The Sea God Powerless in the Ocean? A Tragic Love on a Sinking Luxury Liner

Homura and the player enter a world where a giant passenger ship collides with an iceberg, separating a wealthy heiress and a painter in death… a plot that reminds you of that famous tragedy. In this world, Homura is just a painter on board the ship.
Normally, Homura is a genius painter living in an atelier at White Sand Bay, and deep in the story, he has a face as the god of the sea. Water is his domain; he can even swim through the deep sea while holding the player. But in this act, it’s the complete opposite.
Still, the fact that he becomes “food friends” with the player in just a week is very Homura (laughs). Watching him say things like “You’re different from other rich people” to close the distance, you can’t help but grin, thinking they’re meant to be together.
What’s delightful is that even without his memories, his boldness and composure remain intact. His casual way of closing the distance, his elusive artist’s nature — even in another world without memories, he is still Homura!
…But as you swoon, the ship approaches the iceberg and the cold sea. The element he is most skilled with — water — becomes a place that could take his life. This unexpected twist is thrilling. Will it follow the movie’s ending, or…? This act, with its artist’s allure and the prayer that the sea god should not have to bear that tragedy, is one I especially recommend.
Shin: The Immortal King in Danger from a Single Bullet? A Romance of War, Parting, and Sacrifice

“Immersive private theater” — true to the word, Shin and the player are pulled into the movie world during a screening. “That’s what immersive means?!” you might laugh, but the setting is no joke. A city torn apart by war, a bar in wartime, a shopkeeper trading information behind the scenes, a reunion and parting over old memories — movie fans might already have a hunch. In this world evoking that timeless classic, the player is a wine merchant. She visits a bar and unexpectedly reunites with Shin, but he seems to have forgotten her. Moreover, he acts like an informant and immediately demands something in return — he’s not to be underestimated.
Shin is usually the boss of the organization “Dark Point” that rules the lawless N109 Zone, wielding the Evol of energy control and being the one in control. In this movie world, he is a fragile human who could lose his life from a single bullet. He appears as an informant in a wartime setting.
His elegant suit and shotgun in hand make you think, “As expected of Shin…!” But knowing that he is facing real danger of death in the warzone creates a different tension than usual. As the story progresses, Shin, in his position handling information, throws himself into the midst of danger. The words he says to the player carry a quiet anxiety about parting, unlike the usual Shin. The one who normally fears losing nothing now faces the fear of “maybe losing” — that profile is the highlight of this act.
His kingly presence and unfathomable strength are still there. Yet his fear of death and hidden anxiety about parting with the player give off a different kind of allure. Will he follow the movie’s fate? Please experience this different side of him.
Mahiru: The Closest Person Becomes Untouchable? A Bittersweet Love of Being Near Yet Unable to Reach

Before you know it, the player has become a ghost…?! Mahiru and the player enter a story about a “love that cannot touch” between the living and a ghost. It has a relaxed, everyday atmosphere, but it’s a poignant fantasy. This time, the player is a ghost — invisible to people and unable to be believed.
Mahiru’s essence is that of an “older brother” figure, physically the closest person. He strokes her head, takes her hand, protects her from right beside her — that “warmth of being there” is Mahiru. In this world, that relationship is reversed: he is right in front of her but cannot touch. Among the five, this situation feels particularly cruel. Because what is taken from him is the very thing that makes him Mahiru — the final line of “touch.”
Still, his caring nature and the composure that comes from it remain. He is bewildered by the sudden ghost “little sister” but somehow accepts her and tries to live with her. “Shouldn’t you be more scared?!” you want to shout, but his deep tolerance makes you smile.
What personally struck me was the balloon motif. Giving flowers to a lover, but balloons to a “little sister” — that subtle expression of distance gently symbolizes their relationship of “close but unable to cross a certain line.” The sunset-lit balcony, the promise to come pick her up someday… the emotional buildup keeps your heart tight. Because they cannot touch, the feelings only grow. Please don’t miss where this tenderness and poignancy lead, especially if you know the usual Mahiru’s overflowing warmth.
Seeing the Charm of the Love Interests When Stripped of Their Power
Through these five memories, I felt that when the love interests’ powers are sealed, their raw instincts and true emotions stand out more. It’s a somewhat ironic twist that the most all-powerful ones are subjected to this, but it reveals sides usually hidden behind composure and smoothness, and it feels refreshingly new.
Will their stories follow the movie’s script, or will they resist it? Please see the ending with your own eyes!
