About Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru
Anime Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Season 2 Key Visual
Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (also known as My Dress-Up Darling) is a beloved “Coss-Kyun Story” based on the manga by Fukuda Shinichi, serialized in Square Enix’s “Young Gangan” and “Manga UP!”. The series has captivated readers, selling over 13 million copies in total. It tells the heartwarming tale of two contrasting high school students who find common ground and deepen their bond through the vibrant world of cosplay.
On one side, we have Gojou Wakana, a high school boy with a passion for crafting Hina dolls and aspiring to be a head maker (kashirashi). Due to his dedication to this traditional craft and his lack of interest in modern trends, he struggles to fit in with his classmates. On the other side is Kitagawa Marin, a popular girl who is the undisputed center of her class’s social circle, bursting with energy and a love for all things anime and games.
Their paths cross unexpectedly, leading Marin to discover Wakana’s talent for sewing and his meticulous craftsmanship. This chance encounter ignites Marin’s desire for the perfect cosplay costume, and soon, Wakana finds himself drawn into her exciting world. What unfolds is a delightful journey of self-discovery, friendship, and burgeoning romance.
Season 2 Overview
The TV anime adaptation, animated by CloverWorks under the direction of Shinohara Keisuke, features Naota Hina as the energetic Kitagawa Marin and Ishige Shouya as the earnest Gojou Wakana. Season 2 marks a highly anticipated return, approximately three years after the successful broadcast of Season 1 from January to March 2022.
In this new season, Marin and Wakana, who still have countless cosplay ideas and costumes they want to create, will further expand their world through interactions with their classmates and encounters with new cosplay companions. As their bond deepens and their cosplay adventures continue, fans are left to wonder: will Marin’s heart-pounding feelings for Wakana finally progress?
