Exciting news for fans of Kimetsu no Yaiba! A special cheering screening (*ouen jouei*) for Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugen Ressha-hen has been scheduled for May 24th at seven theaters across Japan! This follows the great feedback from the May 18th screening and offers another chance for fans to get rowdy and cheer on their favorite characters.
Furthermore, to celebrate the upcoming premiere of Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou on July 18th, a free daily streaming event called “Mainichi Kimetsu” will begin on the Aniplex official YouTube channel starting May 22nd.
For those unfamiliar, Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the smash-hit manga by Gotouge Koyoharu, published by Shueisha in “Jump Comics”. The series has sold over 150 million copies! The story follows the journey of Kamado Tanjirou, a young boy whose family is murdered by demons. His younger sister, Nezuko, is the sole survivor but has been turned into a demon herself. Tanjirou joins the Kisatsutai (Demon Slayer Corps) to fight demons and find a way to turn Nezuko back into a human. The series is beloved for its poignant story of humans and demons, breathtaking sword fighting action, memorable characters, and timely moments of comedy.
The anime adaptation, produced by the renowned studio ufotable, began with TV Anime “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Kamado Tanjirou Risshi-hen in April 2019 and has continued to expand. The latest arc, TV Anime “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Hashira Geiko-hen, started airing in May 2024. Following this, the highly anticipated *Mugenjou-hen* arc will be adapted into a three-part theatrical film series, with Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou kicking things off on July 18th, 2025.
2020’s release was the first for Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugen Ressha-hen, and its revival screening is part of the lead-up to Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou. The revival is running for a limited 5 weeks starting May 9th, as part of the “*Kimetsu Theater – ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Tokubetsu Henshuuban Gekijou Jouei-*” project.
Due to overwhelming demand and the positive reception of the cheering screening held on May 18th, additional cheering screenings for Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugen Ressha-hen have been confirmed! Fans can look forward to another exciting session on May 24th at seven selected theaters nationwide. To help everyone get into the spirit, an “Ouen Jouei Shinan Eizou” (Cheering Screening Guide Video) is available, and special cheering goods are also on sale. In further celebration of the July 18th premiere of Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou, a special free streaming event titled “Mainichi Kimetsu” has been announced on the Aniplex official YouTube channel. This is a fantastic opportunity to revisit the anime series!
Starting May 22nd at 18:00 JST, the first episode of Kamado Tanjirou Risshi-hen, “Zankoku”, will be streamed. Following this, one episode will be released daily at 18:00 JST. Don’t miss this chance to catch up on the anime series or experience it for the first time!
