XING Inc. announced the “2025 JOYSOUND Annual Karaoke Rankings” on November 25th, based on the singing frequency of songs on their commercial online karaoke system, JOYSOUND.
Celebrating their 10th anniversary, the sensational band Mrs. GREEN APPLE achieved an incredible feat, securing the top spot in four major categories! They reigned supreme in the Overall Ranking, Artist Ranking, Overall Ranking for Songs Released in 2025, and the Anime/Game Ranking, proudly earning their “quadruple crown.” Their hit song “Lilac” maintained its unstoppable momentum from the first half of the year, claiming the top position in the annual karaoke rankings and proving to be a favorite across a broad spectrum of generations, from people in their 20s to their 40s.
In the Anime Song category, Sakanaction’s first-ever anime theme song, “Kaiju” (Monster), clinched the coveted No. 1 spot. As the theme song for the TV anime Chi: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite (Chi. -The Motion of the Earth-), this powerful track brilliantly complemented the work’s worldview.
The Boy Group rankings saw a fascinating comeback, with NEWS’s 2012 release “Changkapana” soaring to No. 1. Thanks to a resurgence of interest on social media, this classic hit captivated new audiences and even broke into the overall Top 30 ranking. Furthermore, timelesz, with their reinvigorated lineup, proudly secured the top position in the 2025 released Boy Group songs with their track “Rock this Party.”
For Girl Groups, CUTIE STREET, a group that has garnered significant support among Generation Z, took the top spot with “Kawaii Dake Ja Dame Desu Ka?” (Isn’t Being Cute Enough?). In the category of Girl Group songs released in 2025, =LOVE’s “Tokubechu, Shite” (Do Something Special for Me), which became a dance challenge sensation on TikTok, proudly claimed No. 1.
The Drama-Related Songs ranking saw back number’s “Blue Amber,” the theme song for the Kansai TV/Fuji TV Monday 10 PM drama Anata wo Ubatta Sono Hi Kara (From the Day I Stole You), take the No. 1 spot. Its poignant worldview, perfectly synchronized with the drama’s narrative, resonated deeply with a multitude of listeners.
Beyond these, Balloon secured the top spot in the Vocaloid ranking, while DECO*27 topped the 2025 Released Songs within the Vocaloid category. For K-POP/Korean songs released in 2025, IVE’s “REBEL HEART” maintained its leading position from the first half of the year, proving its enduring popularity.
These rankings cover the period from January 1st to November 15th, 2025. A notable trend observed this year is the resurgence of older classic songs gaining renewed attention through social media. This ultimately resulted in a vibrant mix of both new hits and timeless favorites topping the karaoke charts, cherished by generations young and old.
