ONE PIECE BASE SHOP Opens at Shinjuku Marui! Enjoy Shopping Like a Treasure Hunt!

Grand Opening of ONE PIECE BASE SHOP!

On December 5, 2025, the official flagship store for ONE PIECE, the “ONE PIECE BASE SHOP”, is set to have its grand opening on the 4th floor of Shinjuku Marui Honten. We were invited to attend a media preview held in advance of the opening, and it was quite an adventure!

This “ONE PIECE BASE SHOP” is a massive facility, utilizing the entire 4th floor of Shinjuku Marui Honten. The entire floor has been transformed, creating a space that perfectly embodies the world of a “giant ship” embarking on a voyage across the vast ocean.

Sail the Grand Line: Shop Design and Concept

The shop’s interior is designed with a profound blue, reminiscent of the deep ocean, creating an immersive atmosphere. Within various areas, evocative of the many islands Monkey D. Luffy and his nakama have explored, you’ll find approximately 500 brand-new items developed exclusively for this shop. As “adventurers” visiting the store, we grab a shopping basket shaped like the Thousand Sunny and set off on our own quest to discover unique “Great Treasures.”

Immersive Experiences and Unique Merchandise

The store is also brimming with unique, hands-on experiences. For instance, at the <ONE PIECE ORIGINAL T-SHIRT PRINT> station, you can choose from over 400 character designs and have your custom T-shirt printed right then and there. Then there’s the <ONE PIECE DECORATION STAND>, where you can combine adorable parts to create your very own personalized items. And don’t forget the <ONE PIECE PLAY GROVE>, an area where you can enjoy crane games, trying to “salvage” treasures from the deep sea, or experience a giant gashapon machine inspired by the Sabaody Archipelago. These interactive zones are a captivating highlight of this flagship store, embracing the diverse “likes” of every “adventurer” and offering encounters and adventures that go far beyond mere shopping.

Approximately 500 out of the 800 items scheduled for release in December, the opening month, are exclusive original products available only at the “ONE PIECE BASE SHOP”. These 500 items truly represent a “Great Treasure” unique to a flagship store, respectfully capturing the world view, characters, and humor of the original ONE PIECE manga, with meticulous attention to original author Oda Eiichiro-shi’s distinct artistic style. What’s more, new items are planned to be continuously introduced in the future.

Bandai Namco Group’s Vision

In recent years, the Bandai Namco Group has been actively expanding “experience-based retail facilities” that offer new value beyond simple product sales. The “ONE PIECE BASE SHOP” stands as the official flagship store for ONE PIECE, embracing a concept to handle everything related to ONE PIECE—from the original manga and anime to the live-action adaptation—and providing exclusive original merchandise and special experiences that can only be found in this unique location.

To manage potential crowds, the “ONE PIECE BASE SHOP” will initially implement a “pre-reservation system” via lottery for a certain period after its opening.
