Get Ready for the Heat! New Gintama Movie MV Drops
The wait is almost over! Shin Gekijouban Gintama – Yoshiwara Daienjou- (which can be translated as Gintama: The Great Yoshiwara Fire) is finally hitting theaters on February 13, 2026. To fuel the excitement, the music video for the film’s theme song, “Sanzen” by SUPER BEAVER, has just been released, and it’s packed with exclusive movie footage!

A Quick Refresher on the Gintama Legacy
For the uninitiated, Gintama is a cultural phenomenon. It’s based on the massively popular manga by Sorachi Hideaki that ran in Weekly Shounen Jump (published by Shueisha). The comic series has sold over 73 million copies worldwide, including digital versions. The franchise is still going strong, with a TV anime adaptation of the spin-off novel 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei airing in October 2025. This new movie, Shin Gekijouban Gintama – Yoshiwara Daienjou-, is the grand finale of the series’ 20th-anniversary project—a brand-new, original film.
Inside the Blazing New Music Video
Released ahead of the film’s premiere, the MV for SUPER BEAVER’s “Sanzen” uses actual scenes from the movie. The story kicks off in Yoshiwara, a district ruled by the “Night King,” Housen. To fulfill a young boy named Haruta‘s simple wish to see his mother, the Yorozuya (Jack-of-all-trades) crew springs into action.
The video is a rollercoaster! We see Tsukuyo fiercely protecting Yoshiwara, and a brutal, high-stakes clash between Kamui—Kagura’s brother and captain of the Seventh Division of the space pirate group Harusame—and Housen, who is also a Yato. The tension is palpable. Not to be outdone, Shinpachi and Kagura are shown challenging Abuto, Kamui’s right-hand man.

But the real showstopper is Sakata Gintoki. Fighting covered in blood, his relentless drive to save Haruta and liberate Yoshiwara from Housen’s grip is powerfully captured. The MV also teases epic battle sequences featuring the Shinsengumi and Katsura Kotarou, ramping up the hype to maximum levels.
