The anime “Kimetsu no Yaiba,” based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, tells the story of a young boy, Tanjiro Kamado, whose family is killed by demons. To turn his demon‑sister Nezuko back into a human, he joins the Demon Slayer Corps and throws himself into battle against demons. The poignant story of humans and demons, intense sword fights, charming characters, and occasionally comedic scenes have won popularity, with the total circulation of the 23 volumes of the “Jump Comics” series published by Shueisha exceeding 220 million copies.
The anime, produced by ufotable, has been expanding since the TV series “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Tanjiro Kamado, Risshi‑hen” in April 2019. The story following the “Hashira Training Arc” that aired from May 2024 is being made into a trilogy of films titled “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle,” with the first chapter “Akaza Returns” released on July 18, 2025.

Episode 7. Tanjiro struggles against the three Swamp Demons (CV: Ryouhei Kimura), but Nezuko leaps out of the box on his back and joins forces with him.
Nezuko, now a demon, understands Tanjiro’s words and demonstrates extraordinary ability. Seeing her power, Tanjiro thinks, (“Urokodaki‑san said Nezuko is now a demon. That she is not necessarily so weak that I must protect her. Is it okay? Should I leave it to her?”) and entrusts Nezuko with protecting Kazumi and the others: “Protect the two of them.”
Then he jumps into the swamp…
Battle with the Swamp Demons
“Nezuko fights for her big brother!” “Nezuko‑chan’s physical abilities as a demon are insane.” “The part where Nezuko and Tanjiro protect humans and fight together is so cool.” “Trusting and entrusting – Tanjiro’s brother skills are wonderful.” “Where did Nezuko‑chan learn those kicks and punches? (laughs)”

While impressed with Nezuko, online users also worried about Tanjiro: “Tanjiro, going into the swamp… are you okay?!” “Tanjiro takes on an unfavorable battle on his first solo mission.”

However, Tanjiro generates a strong vortex by violently twisting his upper and lower body, using Water Breathing, Sixth Form to defeat two of the Swamp Demons.
The remaining one injures Nezuko’s forehead, but Tanjiro arrives in time to save her and corners the Swamp Demon.

When Tanjiro demands, “Tell me what you know about Kibutsuji Muzan,” the Swamp Demon stammers, “I… can’t say,” and trembles. Tanjiro slashes him, thinking, “Again, I couldn’t get any information.”
“Muzan‑sama is the type to strictly discipline his subordinates.” “It’s not ‘won’t say’ but ‘can’t say.’” “The control Muzan‑sama exerts is terrifying – all the lower demons are scared stiff.” “If demons meet by chance and accidentally mention Muzan’s name in conversation, do they die?” “Does Muzan‑sama rule through fear?” “Muzan‑sama is literally a power harasser.” Online users shudder at the terrifying Muzan.
“Even if you lose, even if you lose again, you have to keep living.”
Tanjiro puts Nezuko, who has fallen asleep, back into the box to recover. When he speaks to Kazumi, who is in a daze after witnessing the attack, Kazumi replies, “Do you think I’m okay after losing my fiancée?”

Tanjiro sympathizes: “Even if you lose, even if you lose again, you have to keep living. No matter how much you’re beaten down.” But Kazumi grabs Tanjiro’s collar and shouts, “What do you know?!” Tanjiro gently places his hand over Kazumi’s wrist.
“Of course he knows. All his family except his sister were killed…” “He can’t say ‘My family was massacred.’” “Tanjiro’s words carry weight.” “This part makes me cry…”“The background music in this farewell scene is so gentle and melancholic, I love it.” “This is one of those moments that makes you want to learn from Tanjiro’s deep compassion.”
Tanjiro returns the belongings of Kazumi’s fiancée that he recovered from the Swamp Demons and leaves. Then Kazumi realizes, “Were you in the same situation?” and Tanjiro hears Kazumi’s apology behind his back.
Culture Shock: Asakusa
“Kibutsuji Muzan, I will never forgive you!” With anger in his heart, Tanjiro receives a new mission from the Kasugai Crow: next destination – Asakusa. Surprised, Tanjiro says, “We’re going again already?” Viewers chuckle: “The Kasugai Crow is truly a demon in a different sense. (laughs)”
When Tanjiro arrives in Asakusa, he is stunned by the bright city even at night. “Asakusa in Kimetsu no Yaiba is so beautiful, I love it.” “Tanjiro’s face!” “Culture shock, Tanjirou w” “His face lol.” Viewers laugh, but then he fills his stomach with udon.

“Yamakake udon~! Looks delicious!” “The delicious‑looking udon is here~”
Just as Tanjiro sips the broth and relaxes, a foreboding smell hits him. He drops his bowl.
“The yamakake udon…! The smell of Kibutsuji Muzan!” “I love udon, so every time I watch Episode 7’s yamakake udon and the udon that flies to the ceiling in the Entertainment District Arc, I take damage. Poor Yutaka at the udon shop.” “He’s far away… what a sense of smell?!” “Kibutsuji Muzan is here━” “How stinky is Muzan??”
It is the smell lingering from his family’s massacre. Tanjiro runs and grabs the shoulder of a man who seems to be Kibutsuji Muzan. A little girl shows her face: “Daddy! Who is this?” Tanjiro is baffled.
“Muzan‑sama has such a nice voice…” “Muzan‑sama is so cool…” “When Muzan‑sama pretends to be human, his tone is gentle and his expression kind – I’m melting.” “Muzan‑sama’s clothes are so stylish.” “Nooooo, Muzan‑sama is too handsome, I can’t resist.”
Ignoring Tanjiro’s distress, online users go wild: “When did Muzan‑sama’s wife become his wife? Could it be a remarriage with a child?” “I wonder what Yutaka at the udon shop and Nezuko‑chan were doing during the confrontation between Tanjiro and Muzan‑sama.” “And here comes Michael Jackson~”
In front of Tanjiro, who cannot believe the woman and girl seem to be living with the demon, tragedy strikes again…
