Tenmaku no Jaadougaru World Premiere Event: Cast Shares Excitement for Summer 2026 Anime

The world premiere screening of the upcoming summer 2026 anime Tenmaku no Jaadougaru was held on June 13, 2026, at United Cinema Aqua City Odaiba. The event featured episodes 1 through 3, and five cast members took the stage to discuss the series: Sekine Akira (Shitara), Koshimizu Ami (Doregene), Saitou Jun (Muhammad), Shimono Hiro (Ogotai), and Suzuki Ryouta (Torui).

When asked about their impressions after watching the first three episodes, Sekine expressed deep emotion. “The recording sessions were filled with the genuine desire of the entire cast and staff to make this work better, so seeing the completed footage moved me to tears. The cute, deformed art style is interwoven with realistic depictions, which makes it so vivid and heart-wrenching. I was simply overwhelmed with emotion.”

Koshimizu praised the unique visual approach. “It’s drawn with a picture-book touch—soft and warm. But because of that warmth, the serious developments that follow feel even more impactful. That delicate balance is incredible.” Shimono also marveled at the animation quality. “The visuals are so stunning that we felt we had to work hard to match that level of quality with our performances.” He noted the high standard of Science SARU’s animation and the scale of the story.

The cast then talked about how they felt when they were cast. Sekine, whose character Shitara has many hidden emotions, said, “I was truly happy. The role has many facets and subtle nuances, so it’s very rewarding. I knew it would be a fun experience as a performer.” Saitou, for whom this is his first TV anime voice role, admitted, “Among veteran voice actors, I felt anxious and nervous, thinking, ‘Why me?’ I also realized how narrow my vocal range is.” Shimono complimented his performance, saying, “The conversations between Shitara and Muhammad are gentle and sparkling—they were wonderful.” Sekine added, “When I saw the finished footage, I thought, ‘Ah, that’s young master Muhammad!'”

Suzuki also praised Saitou, calling his voice “refined and intelligent.” Overwhelmed, Saitou begged, “Please stop! I’m embarrassed! Let’s move to the next question!” Shimono then mused, “It made me realize I’ve become an old man. What is that sparkling energy? I’m just a chatty old guy.” The audience burst into laughter.

The discussion also turned to the visual style of Science SARU. Shimono remarked, “Even during recording with uncolored footage, I had a feeling it would become a beautiful anime. The opening drew me in right away. Not only the art, but the music and sound effects perfectly match the world. Even just listening, it’s an interesting work.”

Suzuki revealed the pressure he felt. “The architecture is complex, and expressing it in a picture-book style is very difficult and requires skill. I wondered if my voice could fit into such a high-quality visual world without disrupting it.”

Looking ahead, Sekine said, “Each character fights for their own beliefs and love, and they get swept away by the waves. I hope viewers will watch over them rather than cheer them on.” She encouraged anticipation for the developments from episode 4 onward.

In closing messages, Suzuki noted, “Textbooks and lessons about the Mongols tend to focus on battles, but this story depicts the schemes and strategies of wives waiting for their husbands at war. It made me realize that knowledge and wisdom are treasures.” Shimono added, “I hope you enjoy the dialogue full of hidden intentions, the beautiful visuals, the music—experience it with all five senses.” Saitou urged, “Take the emotion you felt today home with you and enjoy the rest of the story. Through this work, I’ve come to feel that wisdom is something that elevates you.”

Koshimizu said, “I want you to treasure how you feel about this work. How you interpret it—keep that as a precious treasure in your heart.” Sekine concluded, “Many more charming characters will appear. There are also customs that let you feel Mongolia, so if you look up things that interest you, you can gain new wisdom and enjoyment like Shitara. The opening and ending are wonderful, but I think you’ll feel even more after watching the final episode and then revisiting the lyrics and visuals. Please see it through to the end.” The event ended with warm applause.
